The Reason For Wii's Success

... largely due to the fact that Super Mario Brothers, in and of itself, was a revolutionary game. There was nothing like it at the time. It was a whole new wave on interactivity, and thus a new generation of gamers were born. Back in the early days, there's was one particular element that all games had in common: Ease of use.

games were fairly easy to pick-up and play, and as a result, this allowed a large number of people that were interested in the medium to give it a try. As time went by, games naturally evolved. At the same time, as games started to evolve more, so did the complexity of playing them. Historically, all video games were presented in two-dimensions (2-D). In the mid-90's though, we were introduced to games that now leaped to the third (3-D) dimension. As a result, a whole new dimension of complexity, if you will, tagged right along with it. Although games being in 3-D may have had some affect on the "ease-of-use" factor, a large part of games becoming too complex had to do with the natural progression of the game controllers. Super Mario World - Green, Yellow, Red, and Blue yoshi Abilities Clarified

...When playing Super Mario World for Super Nintendo a common question comes up basically every time. What is the purpose of the colored Yoshi's? It has to do with the color of your Yoshi and what color shell it has in it's mouth.

For example: If a yoshi has a shell in it's mouth it usually gains a special ability. I made a list to clear it up.

A Blue yoshi plus the following shell equal the resulting abilities
Green Shell = Flying Yoshi

Super Smash bros Brawl Gets a Familiar Writer

...e as a shock was finding out that the Subspace Emissary plot was designed by the legendary Kazushige Nojima, the man responsible for writing the scenarios for Final Fantasy VII, Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy X.

Of course, this is big news. Final Fantasy VII was one of the best games of all time, with the greatest story line I had ever seen back then. To have such a writer working on the Subspace Emissary mode means I have high hopes for this game, more than I had before. (Which was a lot).
